 Tram - no overhead wires as from Woolwich into London the 'conduit' system was used, in which trams got power from conductors below the road surface. By coincidence the tram is almost opposite the place where, in 1952 onwards, quantities of London trams were demolished when the system was closed down. |

Note the areas of clear ground towards the top right of the picture, particularly between Silvertown Way and the Royal Victoria Dock - the result of severe bombing in this area during WW2. |
