There was a Reservoir St close to reservoir then a Third St,a Second St,and a First St ending beside Wardley Lane that went over the Pelaw to Sunderland railway bridge to Bill Quay bridge. |

This was Wardley Village's reservoir, and as you can see very close to it is the Methodist Chapel & Infant School |

Wardley's original Colliery which a few years later was modernised with new Offices, Canteen,Medical Centre, Locker rooms, Shower blocks, Lamp rooms etc etc. Underground a 2000 yard roadway with rail lines was created to go to Follonsby and then onto Usworth Colliery |
