Mr Smith's boat yard. He kept some of his electric pleasure boats here and some at his house (which is now The Barns Hotel) in Cardington Road. I visited his house once and was surprised that he had a stage coach in one of his barns. |

Number 4 Granville Street. I was born here in 1947 so probably in the house when the plane flew over. The attached photo from the Bedford & Luton Archives & Record Service shows the street in about 1905 (the houses were built in 1901). This view from 1950 also shows my dad's aviary at the bottom of the garden and his allotment over the back wall. |
