Google Earth is a must for a comparison here.I drove over the middle bridge today. In 1920 that would have been difficult in a car.The precarious Rochester Bridge Station from this view shows it to be quite big.To the West of the bridge,Wingates and Industry cleared away now and reverting to our image of a "Nation of Shopkeepers" with superstores in abundance in the area. |
