The "New" works of Richard Garrett beside Leiston station of the Great Eastern Railway with a mixed train (or a shunting operation) led by a large tank locomotive - still trying to work out which class). Four Garrett Steam Tractors parked up beside the works (waiting for customers? Waiting for repair?). The tramway down to the old Works, now the Long Shop Museum) curves down to the bottom right of the image. Leiston Grammar School (my old school) prominent, long before any thought was given to expansion and the New Block. The more you look, the more you see.... |

Park Hill was previously known as Gas Hill, before that it was Snape Road. |
