This building is still standing and is a copy of the famous Scotland Yard building in London. |

I remember it well. I used to ride it's whole length on a Saturday when I visited my grandmother, once a month in Crosby. I remember looking down into the docks and deciding I would go to sea when I left school..........which I did with Ellerman & Papayanni. |

The small basin to the north (left on this view) of Manchester Dock was Chester Basin. The lock gates for Manchester Dock were excavated by National Museums Liverpool Field Archaeology Unit in 2007 as part of the groundworks for the new Museum of Liverpool. |
