| South-east corner of Oxhey Golf Course, founded in 1912, which contains the 3rd green (3rd hole,376 yards long) and the teeboxes for the 4th hole (387 yards long). The course layout was altered in 1936, when these holes became the 15th and 16th respectively. However, this area was lost when building commenced on the huge LCC estate at South Oxhey in the immediate post-World War Two period. Oxhey Golf Course survived until March 1952, when it became the highly-prized South Oxhey Playing Fields, a valuable resource enjoyed by generations of inhabitants for more than six decades, including this correspondent!! |

This station or halt was opened at Carpenders Park on April 1st 1914 for the sole use of golfers using the nearby course at Oxhey. It was closed as a wartime economy measure on December 31st 1916 and was only re-opened in May 1919, just two years before this image was taken. The re-built station is due to celebrate its centenary in less than six months' time! |

Strictly speaking, this is still the London & North Western Railway before it became the London Midland & Scottish line after the "Big Four" grouping on January 1st 1923. |

 Possibly earlier house with later additions - note the stepped gables but the almost French-style roof on the tower on the hidden entrance front. |

Definitely Eastbury - have postcards of the house and grounds - burnt down around 1969. Carpenders Mansion -AKA Highfield school in the distance |

Definitely Eastbury House, Watford. Stepped crenellations, round and square towers, fenestration, shield between large four-light ground floor window and first floor three light window all fit. See http://www.jjhc.info/easburyhousewatford1809.htm |

Is this Eastbury Park, Herts/Middlesex, the now burnt down Officers Mess for the Coastal Command base at Northwood (now HMS Warrior)? |

This is likely to be somewhere around Northwood or Watford from it's sequence in the numbering. It looks deeply rural in 1921. |
