Perhaps on the site of Tunbridge Wells High School which is Skinners Kent Academy today. |

Is this The Manor, Badgers Holt which is still extant and very close to Skinners Kent Academy? |

The large building in centre of pic is the old St Michael's School in Limpsfield. The road next to it is Wolfs Row, running into Wolfs Hill, The heathland is an area of common land known as West Heath. The large building almost directly below the St Michael's building is Hazelwood School. The picture was taken from a position directly above Hurst green, Surrey looking slightly east of due north |

Yes, that checks out perfectly. It wasn't too far from Tunbridge Wells after all! St Michael's School (now converted to flats) was originally the Church Missionaries Childrens Home. It's interesting to see somewhere that now has more trees than in the past! |

Well done Big John for solving this one. I'm very happy that you have identified this one as it had eluded me despite my best efforts. Once again very well done indeed. |

Thank you Tony D. I accept that this is not the Tunbridge Wells location. The evidence does not stack up. |

I believe this to be the Gregg's Wood area of Tunbridge Wells looking north towards Tonbridge. It is very difficult to identify this area which is why the image remains unidentified until now. I shall add evidence as it becomes available. |

I'm afraid I can't match this one up - I can't find any definite features that correlate. There is no heathland in the area at present. The Manor is Italianate, rather than Gothic. There's nothing particularly characteristic about Castlehill Wood. Unless roads, railways or other identifiable features can be pointed out, then I'd tend to believe that this is actually somewhere else (no idea where). |

Eureka I am still working up this one but I think that I can make a case on this one which has changed a lot over the years. |

I have tried and better tried on this one. Southern England? Kent, East Sussex border? Are the large buildings schools? Heathland yes but no water features or railways. Someone should get it soon.Good luck. |

Several large houses clearly belonging to wealthy people. One huge mansion stands out in particular. Lot of open space and what looks like heathland. |
