I think this shed was part of the Vickers Armstrong aeroplane factory built during World War I. The airfield for sending the planes off to war was at the north end of the Town Moor, over the road. Lawson's may have taken it over as part of their factory. |

These banks are the remnants of the Newcastle Racecourse which was sited on the Town Moor until moving to the current site (hence the Hoppings coinciding with the Northumberland Plate). Lawson's Confectionery Works took over the old grandstand of the racecourse, hence the road running top to bottom in the image is called 'Grandstand Road'.
