Christ Church, adjacent to the town Library, Church was demolished and replaced with retail in 1979/80. In this church the funeral of Anne Bronte was held on 30th May 1849 , she had died nearby and is buried at St Mary's Church in Scarborough.

This looks like the line of the old tramway after the rails had been removed. The last tram had ran in 1931, the year before this photo was taken.

The United bus depot on Vernon Road, opened c1930, with some beautiful art deco detailing. The site is now used as a car park but happily the art deco details are still there.
