Looking very new the replacement for the old Town Bridge stands out clearly. It killed two birds with one stone by being extended over the railway line out of East station and thus eliminating the notorious level crossing at that point. The Royal Oak Inn was one of the buildings demolished to make room for the new viaduct and embankment. |
