Ironstone workings by the Clay Cross Ironstone Company. The Romano-British remains were identified from May 23 1929 when the ironstone workers found a burial. There is an interesting article entitled "A Romano-British Site at Bloxham, Oxon by W. F. J. Knight who was a master at Bloxham School. the article can be found at oxoniensia.org/vol%203/Knight.doc
