I am no expert in mining and mining processes but I think that we are looking at machinery for sorting gravel or aggregate. |

I think this is the quarry at the top of Stormy Down between Pyle and Bridgend which was served by a railway siding |

I've had a look in the Stormy Down area and I can't find any quarry that looks like the one in our photograph. The National Library of Scotland have 6inch Ordnance Survey maps but I can't get the location given to fit any of the maps. In my view we are back to the drawing board unless we can have some more evidence to base the location. |
