Bevans raw material was processed at a plant on the other side of the town, and pumped in finished state to the main plant as slurry. The wash plant received chalk by rail from quarries fanning out to the south and west. Clay was dug at Alkerden (560200,173100) and pumped as a slurry to the main wash plant. |
