Vernon Street Triangle a 19th century 'cottage factory' development. Houses with weaving looms in 'top-shops' in the triangle formed by Vernon Street, Berry Street and Brook Street, built by Eli Green in 1858. A central steam engine powered the looms and craftsmen residents paid rent to Mr Green. Demolished in the 1970s. |
