Ships building at Burnisland Shipyard in 1929.

SS Souave, 4,256 tons, was lost in a convoy on route from Halifax to Tees with iron ore, on 17 March 1943. Torpedoed by U305 or possibly U338. Over half the crew rescued by HMS Godetia. Details here:

Burntisland Shipyard was established in 1918 and closed in the late 1960s - a span of 50 years. Three vessels were launched from the yard late in 1929 - Brynmor on 19 October, Zouave on 16 November and Skeldergate on 17 December. Eskdalegate followed on 17 March 1930. Source:
