The modern dock was opened in 1931 to accommodate the increasing size of vessels. Others were to have been built, but the Depression intervened. It is now owned by Clydeport and deals with dry bulk cargoes such as chemicals, grains and animal feeds. Note the extensive - under-used - rail sidings and warehouses |
