Illtyd Williams and Compton House was one very large drapery. Owned and run by Illtyd Williams, his father and his son Mansel at various times. The upper floors were occupied by live-in assistants who worked at the drapery. The 1911 census shows 7 family members living there together with the manager, a clerk and 14 assistants and servants. |
