Burdett Road Railway Station. The Station closed in 1941 after sustained bomb damage. The entrances under the arches where demolished when the road was widened in 1984.

Bow Common Gas Works. Every Saturday morning in winter, coke was available for fuel at about one shilling a half hundred weight. Some kids used to run a racket when they bought and delivered coke for older people by taking coke from several of their full sacks to make up an extra one and so gain a shilling.
