An AEC Renown LT type three axle double-deck bus in its final days. These were built in batches for LGOC between 1929 and 1933. The earlier examples had external staircases and were not originally fitted with driver cab windscreens in order to comply with some mystifyingly archaic Public Carriage Office (Met Police) regulations. The type survived for longer than had been anticipated, owing to the severe shortage of buses suffered postwar by London Transport. The type was replaced by the new RTs by the end of the 1940s. |
