| Site of Handford lock, where the Ipswich and Stowmarket Navigation, opened 1793, came off the Orwell. It mostly using the River Gipping. Traffic to Stowmarket stopped around 1910, but traffic continued to Bramford until 1929. The navigation was abandoned in 1932.
