St Philip's Church of England. Erected 1880, designed by John Lowe of Manchester. Tower stands 90 feet. Merged with St Lukes in 1973, and in 1974 St Philip's closed. The church apart from the tower was demolished in 1975.

Griffin Lodge. Cavendish Place, Darwen, Blackburn with Darwen BB2 2PN Grade 2 listed building - English Heritage Building ID: 418387 House, Home of Thomas Dugdale, industrialist Headquarters of Museums. Area Council until 2006 then standing vacant. Early/mid C19 (built 1824) with later additions. Red brick with stone dressings, slate roof hipped to left and prominent ridge and end stacks. Severe fire at property October 2013, and further severe damage in a further fire in January 2014. Little now remains of the outbuildings. The house is a burned out shell.
