On the pavement at the entrance to the Royal Pier there was then a P.O.pillar box with Edward V111 insignia. One of the very few around the country.

Shaw Saville line 'Southern Cross' - I think. Happy to be corrected if wrong! I believe she was painted pale green. At the time an advanced design at the time with machinery aft - as per the later 'Canberra'.

Bedford CA. The Bedford CA was a distinctive pug-nosed light commercial vehicle produced between 1952 and 1969 by Bedford in Luton, United Kingdom.

Ford D Series. The Ford D-Series is a range of middle weight trucks that were introduced by Ford UK in 1965. It replaced the Thames Trader and appears to have been envisaged as a more modern competitor to the Bedford TK produced by General Motors' UK truck subsidiary.

Ford Anglia. The Ford Anglia is a car that was designed and manufactured by Ford UK. It is related to the Ford Prefect and the later Ford Popular. The Anglia name was applied to various models between 1939 and 1967. A total of 1,594,486 Anglias were produced. It was replaced by the Ford Escort.
