 This is the left of the two semi-detached blocks that formed the Rustington Hotel, now demolished. They were connected together with a 'modern' link block that included a sun lounge and new entrance foyer in the thirties. At this time you could see across to Beachy Head from the hotel and from the rear, as it was built on Hobby Bank, across the whole of the town, to the pier. |

| This mansion was Holywell Mount (1879) built by (and for) GA Wallis, agent to the Duke of Devonshire and Eastbourne's first mayor. It ended its days (c.1965) as Ravens Croft, a school for girls. There was a playing field on the other side of St John's Road that was accessed by a private subway from within the school complex. |

The large building in the foreground must be 'The Cliff', known locally as Earp's Folly. This was situated in the triangle of land bounded by St John's Road, South Cliff and Mount Road. William Earp built the Grand Hotel. |

This is on the site of a group of 1970s built flats called Ravens Court, Mount Road just off South Cliff in Eastbourne. |
