North Park, King Cross Street. Home of Alfred Edward Sykes from 1910 to 1911. He was the son of James Walker Sykes J.P., Holywell House, of the woollen manufacturers Edward Sykes & Sons Ltd., of Gosport Mills, Outlane

Later Lane Cemetery. In the 19th centurŷ this was the town''s main cemetef Still there (2013) much renovated & restored by the Friends of Lister Lane Cemetery.

On this site, after 1960s/70s demolition of the houses, Halifax's first major mosque, the Madni, was built and later extended. Still there (2013) and expanding.

Ebenezer Methodist Church. Still there (2013) but mainly now involved in care work (meals etc.) for destitute and homeless people.

On this site was built Princess Mary High School for Girls, a grammar school. Demolished 2013 and replaced by a new development for Calderdale College.

On this site was built the Percival College of Further Education. When it was built in the 1950s it was Halifax's first multi-storey building and the town's highest building. Still there (2013) and much expanded.

West Hill Park, a model residential area built by the Crossley family. Still there (2013).

The Mount Pleasant/ Commercial Road area. Largely poor quality, overcrowded streets of back to back houses. Demolished in the 1960s and replaced largely by council houses and tower-block flats. The flats themselves are now (2013) empty and derelict but they canno be demolished because of asbestos used in the construction in the 1970s

Martin's Mill, Pellon Lane. A landmark building that can be seen from all higher parts of the town. Still there (2013) but derelict. In the early 60s it was briefly the home of the Plebians Jazz Club , when American blues stars, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, played there.

Belle Vue Mansion. Originally the Crossley family home. Later, after they donated it to the town, it became the town's main library, children's library and natural history museum. Nowadays (2013) it's a private wedding venue.

The People's Park, a gift to Halifax from the Crossley family, whose business, Crossley Carpets, was once the biggest carpet manufacturer in the world. Still there (2013) and well restored in the past few years.

Park United Reformed Church, Francis Street. Still in place (2013) and mainly used for social care services.

West House. Built in the late 18th century as a residence for the Norris family. In 1913 it was donated to Halifax Corporation and coverted for use as offices. From 1914 to the 1960s it was the HQ of the Local Education Authority. The building still stands (2013) and is used as commercial offices.
