The Relief Office was on the ground floor on Cuthbert St/Prince Consort road corner & I think it was 2 Cuthbert St. My gran Cecilia Rodger lived upstairs & each week she saw the queues of out of work men in the back yard stretching into the back lane. They were queuing for money to help feed their families so it was a bit like the Dole. |
