Recall going there in the 70's to drink cider, that is what they were famous for then as not many pubs had good cider. Run by two men, brothers.... not sure of their names.. Don and ? |

The cinema was the Gaumont at 171 High Street, Dudley - still there but now a banqueting suite and conference centre. |

Talking recently about Old Dudley cinemas my Father referred to this cinema as "The Regent". I knew it as the Gaumont which had been turned into a bingo hall. |

This cinema was The Regent, opened in 1928 (you can see from the photograph that it is new), it retained its original name until May 1950 when it became The Gaumont. It finally closed as a cinema in July 1961. |

St Thomas's church, High Street, Dudley. The chimney stack is the now defunct Julia Hanson's brewery. The street in the foreground leading up to the church is Stafford Street, with a left turning into The Inhedge. The Gipsy's Tent public house is the building to the right of the vehicle driving along Stafford Street. |
