Looks like a 4F steam engine hauling a long trainload of coal wagons.

This railway line is now a preserved steam railway (Peak Rail) which commences at Rowsley South station off to the left. To the right the next station is Darley Dale, whilst the preserved line continues to Matlock where there is an interchange with British Rail. This was the Midland Railway line between Manchester (to the left) and Derby (to the right). The route of the line can be walked from near to Buxton to Bakewell (both to the left of this image). The line from Buxton to Matlock closed -Local passenger traffic ceased in 1967 and express passenger trains ceased a year later. The two subs remain in use, terminating at Buxton (trains to Manchester) and at Matlock, with Peak Rail extending the latter stub up to Rowsley South. This section of track in the image was in preserved use by 1997.

Abbey House. Churchtown. Not listed. Built around the 1830s for James Fielding, it has had several owners since. At present there are 8 bedrooms, stables, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, stables, dog kennels etc. A large garden pavilion can be seen in the image in front of the house. There was no abbey associated with the site. Darleigh Old Hall, demolished around 1770, had apparently been referred to as "Darley Abbey"
