Despite the title, these are the lines of the former London Brighton and South Coast Railway from London Bridge (terminus) station to Croydon and beyond. All lines in the picture were operated by the Southern railway in 1935, so the title should include the word former! |

This looks like a London and North Eastern Railway locomotive, (large yellow number on the side tank below almost invisible LNER in gold letters) on a train open wagons with coal and bricks with an LNER brake van at the back, marked NE. It will have come through the Widened Lines from King Cross on a transfer freight. |
