Woodlands Road Recreation ground. Nowadays the stand of trees in the middle are long gone, there is a steep bank that marks their spot and at the left end of the stand there is a children's play area.

Electricity Works (subsequently owned by Seeboard). When this site was being cleared for housing (Windsor Place development)by Barratt Housing in early 2001 a large boiler filled with concrete was found buried to the right of the building with the chimney. I later through friends met the man, who as a young man at the start of his career, had had the job of filling it with concrete. During the Electric Plant's life it was used to store the fuel oil. The boiler was salvaged from a German U-boat from the first world war.

Sharps Green - I would be often taken here in the late summer months to pick Elderberries, Damsons, Sloes and Blackberries from the bushes/trees in this picture. Many a happy afternoon I remember picking wild fruit and returning home with fully laden boxes for my mum to make into Jams and my father to turn into Wine.
