Gillingham Strand, swimming pool and band stand. Initially set up by a Mr Thomas Cuckow, it opened on the 27th June 1896. Ownership subsequently passed to Gillingham Corporation. Redundant railway carriages were used for the original changing rooms, this photo' appears to show the new changing rooms installed during the 1930's.
