New brick built admin office on this site in about 1958/9

What appears to be a boiler house was removed before 1960 when live steam taken by pipeline from the paper mill boiler house. This would be low pressure possible after use in mill and used for heating purposes in the sack and corrugated factories.

Mewday Sacks opened in approx. 1928. Original buildings shown. Wooden buildings at front were office still late 1950's when two or three story brick building to standard Reed design built by Costain. It was placed on right of production buildings where housing shown in picture. Later extensions were No2 and No3 factories in late 50's and reel store and print room in 1962 ish. These would be at right edge of frame. Company name changed to Reed Medway Sacks Ltd in late 50's Pictorial history of Aylesford paper mills, paper sacks and corrugated case plants shown in book "Pastoral on Paper" by H E Bates - published by The Medway Corrugated Paper Co in late 1950's. Buildings shown in picture - front RHS the "Tubers" -first part of process, behind the stitching for closure and probably on the LHS the glued bottom dept.

"Cost" should be "Costain". Wooden building remained in use till early 1960's a Personnel Dept.
