Hello Class 31. Yes, maybe a good idea to look for images dated 13th Feb 1937. There are a few, such as the previous one in sequence, i.e. EPW052477. It is of Hendon Greyhound Stadium. This one, i.e. EPW052478 may also be of the Hendon area. I have looked very closely at the long straight row of houses – note the bay windows on the ground floor only. That style I have not yet found in the Hendon area but they may be there. I can see plenty similar houses but all apparently of the bay-fronted style – i.e. the bay covers ground AND upper floor. Still, I don’t think we can rule out the general Hendon area. |

Thank you ewnmcg for your comments about Hendon. I expect you are looking in the right area but it is in the middle of a massive conurbation and things cwill have changed in the intervening period. The houses should still be pretty similar even if the factories might have gone. Good hunting. What are we doing looking at half past midnight. |

I have had a good look at this photo which shows an industrial building under construction with lots of building workers on site. The only distinguishing feature that I can see is the unusual layout of the houses along the roads in that every other house is set back slightly further from the road. I can't find any adjoining photo numbers to give us a clue. If anyone can find a photo taken on the same day that would help. |
