Was this store called 'Fosters'? I remember getting my Slough Grammar School uniform there. |

The Granada Cinema - I remember watching the 'Guns of Navarone' when it first came out. It had a restaurant on the top floor where all the posh people dined before watching the films. I couldn't afford a chock ice during the interval. |

In the early 50's my Grandfather had a workshop here for his business of cabinet making and french polishing. It was a Nissan hut and the area around it was covered in gravel. Most of the buildings in this area had been demolished. This is going back 60 years, but I'm certain it was on the same street as the post office. As you walked north the hut was on its own on the right hand side. |

But in 1938 it was probably still really a workhouse originally for the Eotn Union and then for the Slough Poor Law Institution |
