here is a good picture of virginia park with to the foreground stadium number 2 factory the chimney stack on the corner was where the spray shop was later on a third factory was built adjecent to number 2 factory and the waste ground to the rear of this picture a extension was built to increase production in the 70s to the left was a cottage hospital which i remember was still open during the late 60s , the big factory was number 1 stadium in which they started experimenting with plastic moulding , and were the forunners to introduce plastic injection moulding to manufacturing , at the time of this picture most production were glass fibre moulding , stadium also produced a various amount of militry helmets for the raf and other air forces around the world , there main competitors were chas owen of sengenyd in the 60s |
