| Twyn School. At the time of this photograph, Twyn was a senior school (i.e. 11-15 year old), but this building later became the Junior School, with an Infants School on the same site, and the Senior School was relocated to the Gwyndy School on Pontygwyndy Road. |

| Caerphilly Locomotive Works. Redeveloped in the 1960s and relaunched as the Harold Wilson Industrial Estate (opened by the man himself while he was UK Premier), it is now known as the Van Industrial Park. |

I think these were the carriage & wagon shops, replaced before WW2 by new buildings. The loco shops are just barely in view at bottom of picture |

| The Van Annexe, also known as the Van Hospital. Closed in the late 1960s or early 1970s, it was briefly a pub before being demolished and the site developed for housing. |

This is actually a footpath (which still exists) linking Nant-y-calch Farm to the area locally known as 'The Clay Pits'--the area south of the Wernddu brickworks. |
