The Cosy Cafe, run by my father in the late 1940s early 50s.
Concrete floors with grass growing in the cracks, DDT powder everywhere for the ants, and no heating except the oven. But the food was fabulous. |

There was also Wyman's motorcycles on the corner of High St. and Highfield Rd...at least I'm sure it was there. The bed shop etc are all new buildings where it was, there was a multi-storey car park behind with a spiral ramp I seem to remember. |
