Bury High School. After The Derby Grammar School opened in 1958, all Bury High School pupils moved to The Derby Grammar School. This school was then known as Wellington Secondary Modern and had a poor educational reputation. After the abolition of state Grammar Schools in Bury in 1979, and the closure of The Derby Grammar Schools' Sixth Form, the building then became Peel Sixth Form College and pupils from other schools in the area were also taught A levels here. |
