Holy Family R.C. Church (St. Augustine's day chapel) occupied this plot along, with its infant school, until the mid 1960's redevelopment. And a new St. Augustine's Church was built here, as replacement for the one destroyed in the Dec. 1940 blitz.

St. Augustine's R.C. Church, Destroyed in the Dec. 1940 blitz. Built here in 1909 as the original church in Granby Row was basically in the way of the area redevelopment of that time. It then moved over to the smaller Holy Family church (its former day chapel) in Grosvenor Square. And redevelopment in the mid 1960's eventually lead to the new and existing St. Augustine's R.C. Church being built on the plot where the Holy Family Church and infant school once stood.
